Why look past ElevenLabs?
If you just want a voice reading your script, ElevenLabs is still the one I list for that, and Starter is only $6/mo. People usually look elsewhere because the job is a bit different.
If you record yourself and want to fix words or clean up the edit, Descript does that by letting you edit the transcript. If you need a person on screen, not just a voice, Synthesia makes presenter videos from a script.
Whatever you pick, only clone voices you have the rights and consent to use.
